Final Laps :: The Inaugural USA Pro Cycling Challenge in Denver

Being a long time fan of American Flyers, the 1985 Kevin Costner film that focused on a Colorado bicycle race called the Hell of the West (which in reality was the Coors Classic) - I was thrilled when it was announced that professional stage racing would return to Colorado this summer after such a long absence. I was even more excited when I discovered that the final stage would feature a few laps around Civic Center Park in downtown Denver - which is just a few blocks away from where I live! Talk about an amazing opportunity for taking some action sports and panning photography shots - while getting to see American Levi Leipheimer win the event to boot!

It was great to see the huge support and turnout from Colorado cycling fans, and I look forward to seeing this stage race continue here in Colorado for years to come!
